Opus Hotel: The most WOOF-derful staycation in Vancouver

AS and I both work full-time (he studies too, actually, that monster) and we still have a month to go before our next adventure. So we thought- hey, why don’t we do a staycation right here in Vancouver? Better yet, why don’t we bring Navi with us? We found the perfect place that catered to our needs: Opus Hotel.

“Hi! Welcome to Opus Hotel. Would you like some prosecco and bottled water while we check you in?”

Why, we’d be rude had we refused! With a spacious lobby and staff with huge smiles on their faces, we couldn’t have felt more welcomed. Excited, we grabbed our room keys and made our way to this gorgeous suite.

Situated in Vancouver’s trendiest neighbourhood, Opus is an award-winning luxury boutique hotel with a location difficult to beat. Yaletown is home to many of Vancouver’s best restaurants, all within walkable distance from Opus Hotel. Cafes, grocery stores, drug marts (forgot your toiletries?), and nightlife are also within a few blocks’ radius.

Want to go shopping? No problem- Pacific Centre and Robson Street are only 1 skytrain station away. The skytrain station is literally across the street! You can go anywhere you want to go in the lower mainland.

Two gorgeous parks by the sea, David Lam Park and Coopers’ Park, are both under 10 minutes away on foot. Granville Island, one of Vancouver’s top attractions, can easily be accessed by hopping on a ferry at the dock.

Opus Hotel has everything that comes with a luxury hotel- plus moreLuxury car service is available to take you anywhere in Downtown Vancouver via a Jaguar. You can also take their full-suspension mountain bikes out for a spin if you want to stay active. The gym on the second floor is also open 24-7.

Each room comes with an iPad that can be used on and off property. Need to dial a long-distance number? Don’t worry, Opus has you covered for the first 30 minutes to any number world-wide.

And last but not least… the hotel is pet-friendly!

I think most can agree that our fur babies are family. Why should they be left out on a stay as amazing as this? As soon as we entered our suite, we saw a dog bowl with treats and a squeaky toy for Navi. How cute is this?! She and her sushi have been inseparable ever since.

We love how pets are treated like royalty here. Look at Queen Navi high on her throne!

All of the 96 rooms are tastefully decorated, each with a personality and style of their own in vibrant colours and contemporary furniture. With 9 different room types and 5 styles to choose from, you’ll find something that’s just right for you.

We stayed in the OPUS Signature Suite, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and balcony that wrapped around our entire suite. Using dark, bold tones, the interior is glamorous and chic. A two-sided fireplace separates the living room and bedroom with a comfy king-sized bed- it kept us cozy and toasty on a cold day.

AS was really impressed with the high-fidelity sound system in our living room. A cool CD player mounted on the wall has 6 discs ready to be played, or you can connect your own playlist via Bluetooth.

My favourite part? This gorgeous bathroom with a separate walk-in shower and a massive jacuzzi tub. Even the floor is heated! If this isn’t luxury I don’t know what is.

Vancouver is such an amazing city! One of our favorite cool weather getaways. It is so nice to see dog friendly places. Our dog does not travel with us very often, but the extra treats are such a nice touch upon arrival.

I love the idea of staycation but only managed to do a couple in London when I lived there. I will definitely do more once I get back from my travels. This cute hotel looks like the perfect place for a relaxed weekend. I will make sure to stay there when I come to Vancuver in 2017! PS: love the first picture!

    Your pup is adorable!!
We would love to adopt a dog, but we travel so much at the moment (also from Germany to Québec so I’m not sure about taking dogs on the plane..) that we’ve been putting it off. I love that some hotels cater to their needs like that!

    • November 23, 2016 / 9:08 pm

Hehe thanks! I’m so grateful for our in-laws who take her in every time we travel. Navi wouldn’t last on the plane lol

  8. November 18, 2016 / 3:15 pm

Love this! The rooms look very spacious and colorful. I bring my chihuahua with me everywhere but now I have a place to bring her in Canada!

  9. November 21, 2016 / 2:17 am

Navi looks like royalty sitting there! I love how this hotel looks so high end but also has a lot of character (the colorful walls) at the same time. I’ve been hoping to make a trip back to Vancouver soon, so I will keep this hotel in mind when I do!

A spoiled royal brat! 😛 You’re gonna love the location of Opus, it’s so convenient getting ANYWHERE!

  10. November 23, 2016 / 8:57 pm

I’ve always wanted to go to Vancouver! I lived in Toronto when I was little and always heard such good things about it but never had the chance to visit:)

    love from Grace Says

  11. November 23, 2016 / 9:31 pm

I there is a really difference between a hotel that says pets are allowed, and an actual dog-friendly place! Clearly, they wanted your pup Navi to have just as nice of a time, what a lovely gesture to leave some toys.

  12. November 23, 2016 / 10:05 pm

Can’t beat a luxury boutique, and one that gives prosecco at check in – amazing! A girl I work with is going next year I’ll recommend this hotel!

  13. November 23, 2016 / 10:19 pm

HA HA I really wish I had a dog…and then I wish I could stay at this hotel! Looks fab. P.s. absolutely love the blog name and header style! x

  14. November 24, 2016 / 2:13 am

Honestly, every hotel should be pet friendly! Navi looks so thrilled to be there, and the room looks so plush and luxurious. I absolutely love staying at boutique hotels so this is right up my alley!

  15. November 24, 2016 / 12:04 pm

Visiting Vancouver with your four-legged friend. I’m in! Love those photos of Opus. The colour scheme is attractive and the decor is cool and contemporary. My kind of hotel!

  16. November 24, 2016 / 5:19 pm

I’d love to spent time in Vancouver and explore the city, but if I’d check into this hotel, I would never ever want to leave again! This looks like a phantasy dream stay! Youwza! I never saw a hotel cater so well for furry friends. Want!

    • November 30, 2016 / 10:11 pm

that sushi toy really sealed the deal!

  17. November 24, 2016 / 6:39 pm

Staycations make life so much better, don’t they? And what a gorgeous hotel, my God! That bathroom.. why go anywhere if you can just spend all your time in the tub? 😀
Really impressed with the doggy goodies. Usually when hotels say “pet friendly” they just mean that they are allowed to enter, haha.

  18. November 25, 2016 / 1:55 pm
